“Mrs. Steele, if you would excuse us –?” Nicolai asked politely.
Amanda's eyes rolled back until only the whites were showing. She
stopped all movement except the beating of her heart and the expansion
and contraction of her lungs. One of the Ambassadors stood, approached,
more closely examined her current condition, and then silently sat back
down unsettled.
At this point Amanda said, “Certainly.”
